Just call me Jiji

…me, just pretending to be me ….now, where did I put that cape??

Dear God,

This is the prayer that Leon wrote down in Sunday School yesterday:

God,
Please get rid of Bla and if you can’t, at least make him nice to me in my dreams. Amen

Bla is the green dragon puppet from Baby Mozart that has made reoccurring appearances in his nightmares ever sice he was 2 years old. Poor kid. Not sure how to make this go away.

Yay Sunday School!!!!! From, Leons’ Godmother 🙂

  2. Poor guy!! (Sorry I called him “Bia”; I like Bla much better!) 🙂

I’m not looking forward to the nightmares. I still remember ones I had as a little girl. Hopefully Bla finds somewhere else to go soon!

  3. Oh my gosh, that is the cutest, saddest thing I’ve ever heard! Poor guy!!

Not sure how old Leon is but, have you tried to do some sort of puppet show using Bia in a funny or happy light? I’m pretty sure you can buy the puppets and I know Bia was on our exersaucer (you can check craigslist or something similar).

Or what about having Leon write a story using Bia as the main character – you can lead him with “good” situations and he can finish the story.

There’s also the route of accepting Bia as someone we don’t like and having some sort of “goodbye ritual” where Leon can feel like Bia is actually gone.

Just some thoughts…hope the little guy gets rid of those nightmares soon!

    • Hi Momadom,

Believe it or not Leon just turned 7 years old. The bad dreams started when he was about 2 1/2. He always loved the video, even the part with Bla. And he had a Bla puppet and a Bla stuffed animal. He never had a problem with the stuffed animal, but the puppet freaked him out. We had a ritual where we threw the puppet out. Unfortunately he showed up again. (I took him out of the trash with the intention of donating it — Big Mistake) My guess is that this only fueled his bad dreams further because Bla came back. We then made it a point to wrap him up in a paper bag and drive far, far,far away to throw him away. This worked for a while, but then the dreams came back. Over the years there have been fewer Bla dreams, but every once in a while he makes a new appearance. With the most recent one being this past Friday.
